Weird Smell!!!!
Weird Smell!!!!
OK. I am a brand new member to Camaro Z28!! I am very happy to be a member, and look forward to much information sharing.
So, my brother and I took my 02 Camaro SS 6 speed out today, and beat the you know what out of it!! It was a blast. I have had the car only a month, and had really not "ran it" until he and I got together. He has had 3 Camaro's dating back to 1978.
Nonetheless, when I pulled it in to my garage, I could not help but notice a very serious stinch. I cannot describe the smell very well. It does not smell like oil, antifreeze, or anything I am accustomed to.
During our first couple of runs, I did have the traction control ON. Then, I took it off.
Has anyone ran in to this problem? I wish I could describe the smell. It almost smells electrical, but not quite...almost like an asbestos smell.
Any help would be appreciated. Warranty runs out in two weeks.
Thanks and look forward to many posts!!!

Re: Weird Smell!!!!
I experienced the smell of my clutch when trying to get my car up onto inspection ramps.
It had a metallic smell and very similar to the smell an electric motor produces (ozone), thats probably what it was. As someone else said, take it for a spin and see if its still there.

Id check the rear end. That stuff smells like hell even new. If you beat on it and toasted it the fluid that is. It would smell awfull
