Cutout before the CAT?
Cutout before the CAT?
Is a cutout before the Cat possible? I'd assume a big power and major sound increase would be plausible. You guys with Cutouts, Do you leave them open or closed most of the time? I'd prefer the electric one but its a little expensive. I really dont feel like crawling under the car to open or close the cutout all the time.
By the way, This is on a V6 (3.1
) so it might not sound too great.

Re: Cutout before the CAT?
I'm not really familiar with a 3.1's exhaust but im sure you could find a place to put it before the cat. If you have a ypipe you can proably weld it into that right before the cat. I have a cutout and I leave it open 99.999% of the time. Its an electric so I only close to really when people ask what the switch does.
Re: Cutout before the CAT?
You are probably going to experience alot of raspiness and interior noise if you mount it right before the cat. You are better off throwing it farther in the rear right before the muffler.
