Crazy Brake Disk - Problem

Hey Guys,

another crazy question from a german 99´Camaro Z28 Driver.

Here in germany we must have for every part on a car a technical documantation.

In the last year i ruin 4 pices of front brake disks because in germany we can only use solid ones. The autobahn is incompatibel to the original ones. Now i want to buy disks with holes and stluts (performance disks) but i need a information if exist for a camaro 1998-2002 a original disk with holes and slots with a part-number.

Its crazy here with that S**T. This technical stuff makes me crazy here in germany.

Thanks for help.

It must be from AC Delco an short number and GM - 8-digit long number.

What do you mean you can only use solid ones? Does the whole disc have to be one solid piece without and slots for cooling?

Anyway, here's the part number for GM drilled and slotted rotors.

Left side 19171339
Right side 19171340

Here in germany many things abot Cars from the US are...
For every thing on a car i need a technical dosumentation. The original Camaro Z28 Rotors only are vented. These ones are not drilled and slotted.
If i want to put on drilled and slotted, i need a technical documentation, that this part was tested in the EU or it must be original stuff from the Manufacter.
The EU and the German Car-TÜV dont interest if drilled and slotted are better, these guys want to see technical documentation if these parts are allowed in the EU.

With the partnumber you give me (BIG THANKS), i can order that documentation and can then use the parts.

Its absolutely horrible sometimes. No one can understand but thats the law

The Technical Authority in germany tell me, that its an insurance problem. When i use parts witch are not legal (that mean: not for my car or for my car but from the US without technical documention for the EU) and i have a crash and someone other road user will be woundet or killed because some of these parts have a failure, then insurance wont pay and ive big problems.
This Technical Authority write in the LAW: Every part i use in germany must have a Proof (Technical Documentation (in German: ABE - Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis der EU)). If i dont have it and the police stops me for example i have rims without this documents, then they stop me and crush my numberplates and thats it. No joke. With my american racing torq thiust II rims i must go with the US-Dosuments to a technican specialist and this guy load my car to 110% weight and drive like a monkey to see, if any parts are grinding. Then i must proof the order-dosuments and the oroginal US-Docs, that these rims are the same like in the catalog. Then i only get a legal german documentation because the same values are presse in the rims by american racing...
Its so crazy sometimes

But many thanks for yor help. Im sorry if i ask in this forums some crazy things but here in germany are all things with US-Cars a little bit other and excessive.

Wow man that sucks, on the plus side though... looks like GM makes OEM drilled and slotted rotors so you won't have a problem.

Hell yeah

These laws are to stupid to talk about. Sometimes i can cry.

Short other question: wich brakepads are verry good one? Ive found HWK-HB249F-575 Ferro Carbon Pads at summit are these ok? Summit have iron SUM-DSEP-55050L and Zink Dichromate Power Stop AR-8255XL.
What is Zink Dichromate? Zink oxided rotor?

But my baby runs and i love it

Wow, looks great- I love the Euro folding rear-view mirrors and the extra lights in the rear bumper. Are they connected to the fog lights, so that, when the fog lights are turned on, there is extra lighting towards the rear?

Nice to have a Camaro where you can actually let it run at 200 km/hr or more-

The zinc is put on brake rotors so they won't oxidize, since they are only cast iron-

What exhaust are you using, Corsa?

Jack,

Wow ~ some tough laws over there in Deutchland! I guess the saying that:" Remember ~ In hell the Germans are the Police" is true

I've had the best luck with Performance Friction brake pads. A lot of guys also like Hawk brand.

Thx for replys

@Wild *****:
The rear lights in the bumper are the rear Fog Lights. If ever Fog around 50m so i must turn it on.
I can make a Pic of that.

How long we can drive so fast if we want is a question of time. Every year our government are talking about 130km/h on the autobahn. I think in the next years we have tempolimit. So the last good thing here was gone...
In the reality exist not so mutch sections on the autobahn where we can drive open end. But if the traffic is not blocking you, then you can let run the horses.

The Exhaust Tips i dont know but the System is Catback TryFly (so its hammered in the metall). Its long time ago, i not realy know.

@ NukePFE:
That laws are anytime anywhere
That was good "In hell the germans are the police" yes, sometimes i feel so.
The Hawk pads ive found at summit, thats good because shipping cost..

Oh and the best ive forget. The fuel in germany (Super-96Octane) cost 1.51EUR per Liter at the moment...
1 Galone = 3.79 Liter, so its 5.72EUR per Galone = 8.90Dollars
AND THIS MY FRIENDS ARE THE PRE-STAGE OF HELL!

Here some Pics from Autobahn snapped from video:
(One day i will look back and will say "Yes, these time was cool and now we must creep with 130kmh around )
