The 93-96 Camaro part number was posted earlier (like, 7 years ago ) in the thread. It is also in the parts list on my website.

Hard to imagine they made 4th gens for 10years and GM never decided to change the material of this dash.

My cars dash cracked and while trying to take it off it shattered to a bunch of pieces. I decided I didn't want to pay a few hundred bucks on a new dash that would eventually do the same, here in Miami the sun can be brutal. I glued the pieces together with crazy glue. Applied a wax release agent over it and created a new dash out of fiber glass using the old dash as a mold.

The fiber glass dash is awesome, very flexible yet strong. The hardest part was finding a decent paint to coat it with that would match the cars interior and that would survive the sun.

After 2 failed paints, I sanded it down again. Gave it a coat of Bull dog adhesion promoter and a few coats of SEM vinyl paint followed by SEM flexible clear. Looks great now and very durable. If I ever need to remove it for whatever reason I dont have to worry about cracking it.

No. GM did not do that. It only happens when the Z28's are left out in the sun to long...Do NOT have that problem with them in Michigan. Where they were built. 3rd generation GM employee, and owned Z28's and Vettes...Husband built the engines for them....in Flint, MI. for 40 years.

The sun is the guilty one. You can buy dash pad/crash pad covers which is less expensive than a dash pad/crash pad. Come from Flint, MI. All our family has worked for GM since C.S.Mott and others started GM. Have driven, built, and owned most of their products. Own a Z28 -White, now, among other GM Big Blocks.
