Couple of Questions

Ok well I got a couple of questions so I'm hoping all my fellow f body buddies can help.

First, I had my auto tranny rebuilt and now it shifts hard as hell so when I shift into third going down the track it gets a lil lose. Do anyone know what could fix this?

Second, I was wondering which mod would be better for me right now drag radials or headers? My mods are exhuast CIA and 160 thermostat.

Last question, do all z28's have a black top?

Re: Couple of Questions

Not all camaro's came with a black top. I think the bodycolor option came in '95(?).

Re: Couple of Questions

when they rebuilt the tranny, did they put a shift kit in it? otherwise you can program the firmness of the shift. mine is also very hard. great at higher speeds, but bangs hard just going into reverse.

Re: Couple of Questions

Check your tranny mount too, I had a rebiuld and they didn't replace the mount. Oil got on it and the sucker melted into a puree causing some hard shifts and loss of accelleration.

If you get a tranny mount, go Polyurthane... It will vibrate alittle but if you have exhaust it's barely noticable on the highway and it suttles out after about a week or so... Also Poly's don't tend to need to be replaced as often...if ever...

Re: Couple of Questions

well i'll check some of that stuff. To answer one question it does have shift kit in it they put in when it was rebuilt. They didn;t really explain to me what they did but he said he built up so it would last longer and be better for the bracket racing a do every weekend. I just noticed it shift freakin hard as hell all the way through the gears but on the track the shift to 3rd in my main problem. It's so firm the car just can't keep traction.
