Question Cooling ?- Stock Radiator Any Good?

I don't have any proof, but just by looking at the stock radiator, I can't believe that thing is any good. I have a '97 Trans Am with an automatic transmission and was thinking about getting rid of it (actually I broke it and need a replacement anyways).

What are my options?

If I order a radiator from an aftermarket's company built for manual transmission (which appear to be cheaper), could I run it and then buy a transmission cooler to take care of the tranny?

Do aftermarket radiators usually come with places for throttle body coolant? I am just far enough north in northern Virginia that an especially cool morning would freeze the blades shut- or atleast that's what I believe.

Thanks for any help

The stock radiator is plenty good. No need to spend money on something fancy.

The TB blades won't 'freeze shut'.. many people much farther north than that have no problems..
