Cooling question

Hey guys! Quick question(s). I drove my 95 Z28 from Georgia to Tennessee this past weekend. Everything was fine until I would exit off the interstate to refuel or eat. My temp gauge would settle between the first and midway tick while on the interstate but when I would exit off the temp would spike up to almost touching the RED HOT mark. Once I'd get going around 35-45 mph it would come back down to just below the halfway mark. My fans aren't coming on either. I've checked all coolant levels and everything is fine. It has me stumped. I've been thinking about changing out the thermostat but I'm not sure that's the problem. I HOPE it's not the water pump... Any thoughts?

Re: Cooling question

You already said your fans are not coming on. You need to find out why. I'd want to know what temperature the PCM is seeing (it uses a different sensor from the gauge). You'll need to be able to scan it for that info.

I'm sure it's a great app but it doesn't seem to work with windows 8...

It works on my convertible HP notebook with Win 8.1. It could be that your security level is set too high. If there any error message? My app is not digitally signed because that costs a bunch of money; that could be an issue for you.

See post #23 in the link Fred posted.
