Cooling fans..

Well, I've been working on my A/C all weekend and it's working. I replaced the compressor, drier, high pressure line (cracked), and all O rings.

After getting the A/C working and noticed it's not cooling as much as it should, I noticed that only 1 fan was coming on and it's the #2 fan. I realize that someone along the way has jumped a terminal on the #2 fan relay (to a ground) to get to work. If I remove the ground it stops. The #1 fan apparently has never worked since I've had it (but the temps were fine). When I jump (the #5 terminal I believe) on the #1 fan relay connection my fan kicks on.

Would anyone know where to look as to why that circuit is open and not grounded? Right now I'm jumping them and they are both on while the motor is running.

I traced the wiring from the fans and it hasn't been altered, they go directly up and into the relay box/fuse box. The fan fuse is fine and doesn't blow.

TIA

I would compare what you got to the schematic on my Tech Page. Use the appropriate one for the 2 or 3 relay system (1994s could have had either).

Just make sure to check the relays in the fuse box in the engine bay. I had one bad one on my low speed fan and it never came on.

It might be a good idea to just go to autozone and buy 2 or 3 (depending on your system) relays. They run about 6-8 dollars a piece. Unless you have a manual fan switch and can turn them on and off at will to know which one is bad.
