Common Or Rare Interior Option?

I was curious if any one knows how rare my interior is for my 97 Z. First off my interior RPO code is 73B “Trim Combination, Cloth, Flame Red (B) (91)”. Also my car has the 30th anniversary insignia on all 4 seats.

I own the Camaro White Book and on the 1997 year model page it says 73B is a Red Interior, yet it says the only red interior is LEATHER; and only 1,300 red leather interiors were made for 97. Does anyone know if I have a super rare and worthwhile interior?

Here are a couple of pictures

I looked at my copy. I think they might have made an error in the quantity write up when they describe 73B as “red leather". In all the interior color codes a letter suffix like B or C is added to designate cloth. A numeric suffix like 2 or 3 is added to designate leather. If you look at the 1998 interior quantity write up, the only red interior code is 73B and the only red quantity given is described as “red accent cloth".

Just a guess.

Okay thanks Fred! So I guess that means that I’ve got 1 of 1,3xx red interiors of 97. Was the 30th anniversary insignia a separate option? Because I notice it on a few seats and then it’s absent on others?

A pretty good guess! The 1997 Chevrolet Product Guide confirms what you said. I've attached a pdf of the pages pertaining to the interiors and color selections. Also, the 30th Anniversary Emblems on the headrest and rear seat backs were standard on the 97 Camaro. I believe the emblems were on the floor mats as well.

That’s a pretty neat pdf there. Thanks for helping me get this all squared away!
Honestly my interior was one of the reasons I bought the Camaro White Book as you can imagine I was distraught when I still couldn’t find anything in the book

No logo on the floor mats, at least as a standard option. My SS is a Hendricks Motor Sports SS, so the logos on the mats match that, but the 97 RS I owned had no logos whatsoever. I have seen the 30th logo on mats, but am unsure if that was a factory option or aftermarket.

I looked over this information quickly before, after reading it again, it says they are included in the 30th Anniversary Model (RPO Z4C). Never really paid attention to notice if other 97 models had them or just the Anniversary models.

Re: Common Or Rare Interior Option?

The White Book confirms “A 30th Anniversary logo was either stamped or sewn into the headrests of all 1997 models.”.

This is a frequent source of confusion when new owners see the logos and claim they have a (Z4C) “30th Anniversary Edition”, not realizing it isn’t a Z4C unless it has the RPO code and white exterior, hugger orange stripes, with white leather or white leather/houndstooth inserts.

Also, see the 1997 sales brochure:

GM 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Sales Brochure

In particular, page 7 which states “all” in the text:
