Collecters?

I just bought some used Pacesetter LT's, and the previous owner had welded glasspacks right off the collecters, and then cut them off all sloppy. I was wondering what was the best route to fix the collecters?

Re: Collecters?

Flowmaster sells a set of ball flange collectors you could have welded on to the headers. Or you could install a set of regular 3 bolt collectors. Or you could just do slip fits. What kind of collectors does your y pipe have, or are you having one made later?

I am kind of privelaged as my father is a machinist/welder and he does alot of this kind of stuff for me at work. I would think the best bet would be to have the collectors sawed down perfectly and near the same length on both headers. Then sand down the edges and purchase the Pacesetter off road y-pipe which will simply slip over the header collectors and you will have to use either band or u-clamps to seal them. Other option would be to weld flanges to both the collectors and the y-pipe. This is much better in my opinion as disassembly is much easier in the future.

Ball flanges are GREAT. They don't leak like the old style flat mating surfaces.

Re: Collecters?

I already have the y-pipe and want 3-bolt flanges, I will look into the ball ones as well.
