What is a reasonable labor only charge to replace a clutch in a '95 Z-28 6- speed convertible? Shop $? Independent $? thanks all

 

I'd say it's 6-8 hours of shop labor. Maybe four if the mechanic has done a dozen fourth-gens before, but they'll charge you for the book time, not the actual time. I'm not sure what the book labor is -- maybe someone can look that up for you? Figure $90/hour for a good independent mechanic, so I'd plan on $500-700 in labor.
