You could try resetting your ECU, just unplug the battery for a few minutes and plug it back in and fire it up.

 

Just thought I would follow up my post in case anyone else had a similar problem.

Again, it said "check gauges" but NONE OF MY GAUGES were pointing to anything I should be concerned about (battery, gas, oil pressure, etc.)

Anyway, after a few days I realized one of my spark plug wires was loose-after I pushed that all the way one the light came off immediately.

 

my fuel gauge is wrong on a full tank of gas the gauge will go up and down even tho its full the check gauges light will come on i always use my trip to know when it needs gas i always wait unitl 220 miles before i refill my 00 Z28
