"Check gauges" light coming on
Started my car yesterday and after a minute my check gauges light comes on. What exactly does this mean? Everything seems to be fine-temp, oil pressure, gas, battery, etc. Nothing is out of the norm at all.
Any ideas? Tried searching and couldn't find anything
Thanks
UPDATE:
Just thought I would follow up my post in case anyone else had a similar problem.
Again, it said "check gauges" but NONE OF MY GAUGES were pointing to anything I should be concerned about (battery, gas, oil pressure, etc.)
Anyway, after a few days I realized one of my spark plug wires was loose-after I pushed that all the way one the light came off immediately.

That's what I am confused about-light came on when I had only driven it for about 50 miles after filling up (normally get about 150-170 miles to a tank). Just to make sure I went ahead and filled it up again-only took a few gallons. All other gauges are fine, has enough oil, oil pressure is good, temp is good, etc.
I heard it may be something with the thermostat so i may check in to that this weekend.

Yeah, the 'check gages' light (still cracks me up that they spelled it like that) just means to look at your instruments. It means one of your needles is in the red, basically.
Have you done an overlay? Are your needles all correctly positioned?

Another thing that can set a code is a loose gas cap, or am I off base again?

Re: "Check gauges" light coming on
I've only had "Check Gauges" come on for 3 different reasons.
1) I stalled it (in the manual)
2) My serpentine belt broke.... Lost Power Steering, Low Voltage
3) The car is off. (IE Listenin to the radio in the parking lot)
