I just changed the oil in my '00 and I don't know how to reset the "oil trip thingy" so that the change oil light doesn't keep coming on.

Hopefully someone helpful chimes in.

 

Turn key to run (don't start car), press and hold down the "trip/oil reset" button for a few seconds, when it stops flashing and goes off it's reset. It'll also reset your trip mileage too, if you want to keep the trip mileage turn key to run, depress the gas pedal 3 or 4 times.

 

Don't follow that light for oil change guidelines either, stay with 3,000 miles or 3 months.
