Lightbulb Cat-back vs. True dual exhaust

I've read a few posts concerning "which exhaust system is best", which LT's are the best, etc... but one thing I noticed was not really covered was true duals...

...now onto my dillema (sp?)

I was just about to purchase the SLP Loudmouth system I've been wanting for a while now. It's loud, it's mean sounding, and it's inexpensive... everything I'd want in a cat-back. Then I started thinking long-term, as in years down the road.

Eventually I'd want to go true duals.

Which would be the better route to follow? Should I just get the cat-back now, then a few years down the road take it all off and go true duals? These are the options I've narrowed down to:

1) SLP Loudmouth cat-back (cat-back only)

2) Hooker LT headers, high-flow cats, Dynomax bullets (true dual setup)

Pro's/con's... would anybody be willing to share them for each system?

I can't decide if I should go the cat-back way now, then follow up with the true-dual setup a few years from now, or just say screw it and get the true-duals now and get it over with!

Any opinions or feedback will be great!

Thanks

Id say go with the true duals and get it over and done with. either way they are gonna be really loud but thats a good thing. Youll get the best numbers out of the true duals but while your at it get a set of Long tubes. It will sound friggin awesome and be definately worth be worth it. The only downfall is if you get nailed for it by the police but as long as you have cats on then you should be alright.

Good luck,

Does anybody here think the Dynomax bullets will be TOO loud?

Too loud meaning: Beyond legal limits?

The way I see it, long tubes combined with true duals are going to make a hell of a lot more noise than your standard "pseudo-dual" setup using one Dynomax bullet (ie: DynoMouth).

So would another form of muffler be better suited to keep the system LOUD AS ALL HELL, but still dancing on the safe side of legal limits?

My goal here is getting the system as loud as legally possible without attracting cops from miles around when I drive down the parkway at WOT.

Suggestions/reccomendations?

"Too loud meaning: Beyond legal limits?"

even the loudmouth is technically louder than most laws allow...so true duals will be even worse.

i say stick with the catback untill you actually have sufficient hp to warrent the duals

there are many guys on the board running 500+ hp on a standard LTs and 3" catback system
