Car wont start.

I replaced my column and I am positive that I hooked all the connetions back up because everything works. The wipers, dimmer, lights, brights, and when I turn the key to the on position I can hear the fuel pump turn on and then nothing. When I turn the key to crank it over theres nothing, no clicking or grinding just nothen.
I thought if it was the ignition switch that I wouldent have any type of power when I turned the key to the on position. Oh, after i try to turn her over when I turn the key back to lock position and take the key out the security light stays on for about 2 minutes, this has never happened until now. Me and my dad tryed to push start it and it ran for about 3 seconds then died. I think it's somthing with the computer, any guesses, or has this happend to anyone else?
I need help quick, thanks.

sounds like your lock cylinder crapped out. You can order a nice shiny new one and it comes with two new keys.

good luck

You know you have power in the run position at the ignition switch, but sounds like you don't have the start wire installed. This would be the one that activates the starter motor. Check that before you go after the 'puter.

Re: Car wont start.

Well my mechanic said that it is the lock cylinder. He said the car is not programed for the new one that I put on so I have to replace my old one with the new one. Does that sound right?
