Car Value
I found a v6 with an lt1 conversion. Correct me if im wrong but the title still says its a v6 and to any1 else besides some1 on here wouldnt pay the difference. Heres the deal its a 95 camaro with an lt1 that has 60,000 miles on it and a blown tranny. The body is in pretty good condition from the pictures that i have seen. But then again the body has 160,000 miles on it. What do you think the value is before i make an offer?
Re: Car Value
Yeah I wouldn't pay more than 3k for it. If only the tranny is screwed you might be alright, but if anything else is messed up you could easily be into that car for more than it's worth. Buy a lower mileage similar year true LT1 car for around 5k possibly problem free and a whole lot less headache. BTW the insurance would probably be well worth it though.
Re: Car Value
the V6 rear end is not posi in those years. You'll have a one-wheel-wonder unless they swapped the rearend too.
You will need to disclose the fact it is a V8 to the insurance company. They may or may not care, but you'll need to at least be honest. If not, and you get in an accident they will deny you coverage. That would suck, you could be ruined financially by it, especially if someone was injured.

I would say $1500, and prepare to go through the car to fix any issues...
IMHO it's a better idea to stay away from this sort of thing unless you like to fiddle with the small issues and understand the value of the car is only worth it to those who feel the same way...
