ok im having to many problems with my car but this being the first and most important.. i replaced the starter this evening and it started took it for a ride came back went to start it and the car started and the starter stayed going. and the reason for the ride was so that i could charge the battery up cause it likes to die and most likely isnt going to hold the charge again. but i shut it off and it started and the starter stayed on so i was wondering what could be wrong now....

 

Get it checked, the coil could be bad. I put on a new starter and did not remove the batt cable. I did not tell my friend that was helping so when he removed the coil wire it touched the frame and sparks went everywhere it also fried the coil.

 

Something is wrong with the starter or perhaps you have it wired wrong. Please delete the two other duplicate threads.
