Car runs with security (vats) wires cut

94 z28. The security light has been on since I bought the car. Bout 2 weeks ago. I've never had any problems starting it due to vats. I was going to bypass it with resistors just to get rid of the light. After I cut the 2 white wires. The car has no problem starting or staying running... Security light stays on of course how can this be? When installing the correct resistors. The security light also stays on.

You seem to be in fault enable mode. Either you are not using the correct resistance or that resistance is not getting to the VATS module or there is another issue.

So, it considers it a problem and not someone trying to steal the car.) When in fault enable mode, PASSKey protection is disabled until the problem is repaired. Once repaired, the SECURITY lamp will go out about 1 minute after the key is turned on.
