Car not starting...

Ok here's my problem, I have a 2k1 Camaro V6 and when I go to turn the key it doesn't start. Everything lights up normally such as when the car starts up normally it just doesn't turn on the engine. It doesn't make a ticking noise like it would if the alternator was broken. But when I go and pull the clutch out slightly it starts up no problem. Could this be a starter problem or is there somethin wrong with my clutch pedal?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Sounds like a switch problem with what you describe. The clutch needs to be depressed enough to engage a switch that allows current to the starter. Maybe its just loose or maybe it has a dead spot in the switch.

So when you let up a little bit on the clutch with the key in start it will finaly crank? Sounds like you need to get under there and check the clutch switch. It might just need a slight adjustment to get past the dead spot

Re: Car not starting...

Can anyone give me directions on how to do that? Is there anyway I can buy another switch?

Thanks,
Paul
