Car might be done : ( Need Advice

Can anyone tell me some places where I can look at/ shop for a crate motor? I planned on heads and a cam, but it just might be worth it to get a new engine since the block has so much abuse on it. Looking to spend between 1800-2500 dollars. A new car is really out of the question. Any ideas on crate motors?

Thanks

Im really looking for a crate motor already put together. This is really a tight spot because Im only 17 and my dad will only help me out with so much. I have 2100 myself and my dad will most likely match what I have. The only thing I have found is the GM 350 Crate motor. That was 2300.

I know those are rebuilds, but under the chevy section in performance engine, I was thinking of the 350, 360 hp one. I know that is carburated, but could I keep my fuel injection still?

No. None of the Gm crate motors will work. You need an LT1 block or LT1 engine. Buy a shortblock and reuse your heads. You dont need new ones. Throw in some fresh valvesprings (~$100 for some good ones) and you'll be fine

I was looking at some of the blocks. I have lt4 heads, lt4 intake, comp cam 224/230 and all the other stuff. Would all of that fit on a 383 or 355? Would all the accesiors fit on the engine to. Like waterpump, distributor ect from my old engine?

What about just boring your block .030 over, getting the rebuild kit from summit w/forged pistons for a little over $500 and polish the crank and have your rods checked.
I just turned 18 and that's what I did, as far as the rebuild goes, I went ahead and bought a new waterpump, and had to get a new opti, but that was just me. It wouldn't hurt to get a new timing chain either.
