Question Can somebody clear this up for me?

I want to get headers for the car in my sig, but I also want it to be able to pass emissions. Now, people have been telling me that long tube headers will make the car fail. I went over to thunderracing.com and they sell long tube packages that include a Y-pipe with the cats installed. Wouldn't this make the car pass emissions? I am confused. Thanks.

But based on emissions alone, would they allow the car to pass?

strictly based on what comes out the tailpipe. I wouldn't worry about it. However if they do a visual inspection you will fail.
