The bottom and top are straight on the 98+ SS screen and the top two corners are a little bit more curved then the bottom two corners. The GM part # for the 98+ SS screen is 12369964. Sorry I don't have a pic.

I am not positive on this, but maybe the 96 & 97 SS screens have to come from SLP because all the SSs of those years went through SLP.

YUP! just found it on SLPs website and it has big picture too.http://slponline.com/view_product.as...&SHOWEMAIL=OffThe 98+ screen isn't as rounded on the ends.

Yep thats what mine looks like. Ive noticed some LT1 SS hoods look like they have the 98+ grill in them. So i believe it depends on what brand of hood you have. My hood has the 96-97 one. It didn't come with one when i bought it from an individual. So i had to order one from SLP using a friend's SS's Vin.

Re: camaro ss hood screen

I was able to cancel my order of the '98+ grille. I bought the correct one now.

My hood is a genuine OEM hood, so I needed the '97 grill

By the way, does the grille just snap into place, or do you need to secure it somehow?

Thanks. That's what it looks like in the pictures that I've seen, but I wasn't sure. That makes it easy. I can't wait to get this hood painted and on the car! I've always loved the look of SS hoods. In my opinion, no other hood comes close to looking as good as a SS hood on a camaro. No aftermarket hood even comes close(unless it's a SS replica ), but that's just my opinion.

Re: camaro ss hood screen

Just an update. I found a place that sells the original '93-'97 screens. Mine arrived yesterday, and it's the correct one, and looks great. It was $28 shipped from www.fbodymotorsports.com
