LT1 or LS1? LT1 optisparks can get messed up from a big puddle, but the car usually will stall or sputter if that happens. On LS1's it could be the alternator, but not sure if it would set a light. Get the light checked at autozone.

I got stuck in a puddle from the exact same weather as you man......terrible rain. My car actually stalled and started up an hour later with no probs as far as I can tell. You should get the ses check out and then tell us what code you got and we can try and help.

Yup I've known LT1s to run through puddles and not run for half a day because the opti got soaked. Fell lucky because on 93-94s because of the non vented opti they are trashed. On 95-up F-bods they have the vented opti's and will usually recover from something like that in time. I've known people that have gone out with a hair dryer and dried there opti after it getting wet and causing probs. and it's been fine afterwards.
