cam swap

What would be a good cam for 98 LS1-6-speed? I plan on putting on long tube headers also. Also putting LSX intake, what size throttle body should I use with this? Thanks

Re: cam swap

some sites have a combo package, like the FAST manifoldw/ a 90mm TB, which would be great....as far as cams,, if you want the most performance get ahold of joe overton(804) 598-9261 if possible or bret bauer (SStroker Ace on this site) they make great custom cams tbyrne motorsports has a great site with great prices, also check out ws6store.com, remember with a cam, youre going to have to upgrade alot of the valvetrain stuff to support it

goodluck!!

Re: cam swap

Those are great places but you really need to have a horsepower goal. If you arent looking for anymore than 400 RWHP then stick with a ported stock Throttle body, and maybe an LS6 intake and save the money. As far as cam, those places make good cams, but futral motorsports is at the top of the game on cams for LSX motors. They have great kits for about any goal. Also speedinc.com has a great deal on a patriot gold dual valvespring kit for 250 shipped and good to 0.650". They should last for at least 40k miles on a mild cammed car making 390ish hp
