A/C recharge

ok im not sure what kind of Refrigerant i need. I had to disconnect the lines and i need to recharge my ac. what is the correct recharge kit that i need to have. I thought i had someone to do it for me but has not done it yet so im going to go buy it and do it myself. but not sre what to get.

134A, can be found at Autozone, Walmart, ect.

You can buy 134a without a EPA 609 license??? I didn't realize that varied state to state.

Are you thinking of R12 ? I wouldn't have imagined anyone had a restriction on the 134a replacement refrigerant. That was the idea behind going to it.

You only need that license to buy 134a in comercial quantity. Also to buy R12.

i would not recomend recharching your ac yourself, unless you have a vacum pump. you will not be able to get the moisture out of the system and this could result in more problems like poor cooling, or premature parts failure. you also need to have the reciver dryer replaced any time your a/c system is open very long.
it is also vey difficult to tell how much freon you have added to a vehicle with an autozone charging kit. it is easyer to gauge if you are high or low with a good manifold gauge set.
this is not the place to save money. just have someone with the proper equiptment handle this one.
