A/C not working properly

Yeah, when I put it on the coolest and hardest setting, only hot air comes out. So, I added a little bit of R-134a to the low level line, but it was still just as hot. I would've emptied the whole bottle, but the refrigerant started to spray out of the top of the hose.

What were your operating pressures, if you used a manifold?

Well, it's blowing hot air out of all the vents.

check to see if the clutch is engaging.. the car should bog a bit when turned on..

check to see if the engine cooling fans come on when you turn the A/C on..

have you actually hooked up a pressure gauge to the lines to see if you have a charge? could be low if you didn't manage to hook it up right when you tried to charge it..

any of the above it will blow hot air..

The fans do not come on, I didn't hear the compressor clutch kick in, and I have not checked to see if I'm actually low on refrigerant.

Check you lines going into the evaporator (firewall), one should be pretty cold, the door that switches from hot to cold in the heater box may not be functioning.

Fans should come on once the pressure comes up on the high side.

you need a starting point. you need to see how much pressure you have on the low side with the car off. should be at LEAST 80PSI. if it;s empty or a lot lower then that then you have a leak and the compressor will not engage. if you have atleast that or more thnen turn the car and AC on and watch the center of the compressor and see if the clutch spins. if not that you have a comprsosor or an electical problem. take a large metal rod and wack the clutch and see if it spins (sometimes they stick) if not hold the rod up against it. do you feel a magnetic pull? if yes and it;s still not coming on then you need a compressor. if no then your not getting power to the feild coil and need to start an electrical diagnostic. please don;t try and fill any more freon untill you first establish a pressure refference. do all that then lemme know what you find
