I was curious about how everyone feels about cars with a salvage title.I am looking at a 97 Camaro z28 bright red,m6,40k miles,was hit from rear and totaled out.The guy is asking $6500 for the car.It has been repaired.

 

That kind of coin for a rebuilt title car that is 10 years old is way too high. I am guessing more in the neighborhood of $4,000 tops.

 

totalled out from the rear.. sounds like a pretty good lick? I'd have that fully checked out. Like scott said, 4,000 is the _absolute_ highest to pay, and I was thinking more like 3,000. Might be difficult to talk him down that low. 40K miles is pretty sweet though

 

Personally, I wouldn't, especially for the price. Who knows what kind of damage was done to it.

 

And if it gets in another wreck... Can't really do much to fix it again

 

I would never buy a car with a salvage title, I would only buy it for parts
