Bulletproof fan switch
Bulletproof fan switch
Just wanted to share. Installed a manual fan switch over this weekend on my '96 (thanks shoebox!!!):

Right after installation, I suddenly realized that I will end up with dead battery one day at work 60 miles away from home, as I will forget to switch off fans when car is off.
My solution: I added relay. On diagram, normally opened relay contacts splices "Chassis Ground" connection. Relay is being energized from Red wire which goes to CD player (switchable power).

96-97s have power to the fan relays hot all the time. 93-95s go off with the key.
Looks like he added a relay to kill the ground used by the fan switch when then key is off. That way the fans will go off, even if the switch is left on.
I agree w/shoebox on this, on my firehawk, even using SLP's switch they would stay on if the switch was on (both hi or low), and on my 95 and 93, they are off when the key is off. Good job though regardless.
