I am looking to buya 1997 z28 six speed in real nice condition but the problem is the dealer say the odometer is broken and they dont know how many miles are on it and the title says something like uncomfirmed mileage and are selling it based on condition. I carfaxed it and the last mileage was in 2002 with 65k miles on it. IS there a way to recall the mileage or find out how many miles are on it does the "black box" record this i really would like to know how many miles are on it. THanks!!

usually the title has what mileage was on the vehicle when last purchased. i dont think there is any other way of telling how many miles are "actually" on a vehicle especially if the speedo is broken. only thing i can say is, go with whatever the last documented mileage reading was and start from there.

i swear ive heard that the pcm stores mileage each time its shut off. theres a post here that kind of talks about it. do some more checking. if its true, than the odometer being broken doesnt matter, just check the pcm.
