Breaking link with key fob to prevent theft
Hello,
I am purchasing a used Camaro, and the guy wants to keep his existing key fob b/c it came from his wifes car. I really don't like the idea of him having a fob to fit the car. Is there a way to reset the module so that fob becomes useless?? It's a 96 Z28.
If someone can please chime in, I am picking the car up in 12 hours and just found out about this.

He stuck to it this morning... very odd. He changed his attitude when I came back for the deposit. He worked me hard, but we passed and took our money with us.
For anyone else wanting to know. I talked to a GM tech and the codes are wiped out and only the remotes present during the programming work with the car.
