Brake Problem

I had a bad squeal in my front brakes on my 2000 V6. Took it in and got new pads, the guys checked the rotors and said they don't need turned. Now the squeal is just as bad if not worse. Any body have similar experiences/ideas on what else it could be?

Re: Brake Problem

Take it back to the shop that worked on them and notify them of the problem.... Should be under warranty, if it was just done.....

Re: Brake Problem

Switch to the VGX pads. VGX claims that they dont squeak and they dont. Ive had them on my vert for years after having enough of the squeaky GM pads. Summit sells them.

Re: Brake Problem

Mine did something similar, I had a bad caliper. You might wanna look into that. The seal around the piston was torn a lil and it made the thing not go back to where it shoud be. I figured it out when I had put new good pads on like 6 months before. That one bad side with the messed up caliper, the floating pad (aka the outside one) was worn down a lot. It was to the point that the squieler thing that touches the rotor when the pad is worn was hitting and digging a nice groove So basically my brake was constantly on just a lil bit, but not enough for me to notice.
