brake lights go out in the night
brake lights go out in the night
I have a really strange problem. For some reason my brake lights work fine during the day, but when the night hits the running lights work but when I apply the brake both brake lights go out. It's like they are reversed or something. instead of brightening up, they completely go out. /confused

I dunno, the only reason i noticed is because i was pulled over by a cop. I usually get my replacements at autozone. I think they are 2057 or 3057 i cant remember exactly. Can anyone confirm?

The bulb types are listed in your Owner's Manual. If you don't have a Manual, go here and look it up:

Re: brake lights go out in the night
I'm a little confussed. The 97 has the auto headlight system. The running lights are on during the day and the "normal" headlights come on at night. This is activated by the light sensor on the dash. Could be the headlight switch or light control mod. I'll check the wiring diagrams tonight and see what I can find.
