Re: brake light on....

On the brake control valve where you see the brake lines coming out of is the brake control valve. On the top is a 2 pin connector with a tan/white wire and a black/white wire. Disconnect it and see if the light goes out. If you don't want to pull that connector or can't find it. On the passenger fender near the positive cluster is 5 ground wires bolted down for a ground. Take them off the bolt so they are not touching ground and see if the light goes out.

Also when you get back to us on that, let us know if you have DRL's.

Re: brake light on....

did the light just come on by it self or were you messing with the brake system? I believe what you just unplugged is there is a sensor in the proportioning valve that senses pressure, if one side has less pressure than the other then the light will come on. Its a sign that you have air in the system or a leak of some kind.

The "BRAKE" light is on to tell you that there may be a serious problem with your braking system. There appears to be an incorrect pressure balance between the front and rear braking circuits. Could mean one braking circuit is not working at all.

Leaving the light unplugged is not a "quick fix". You may have a leak in one of the braking circuits or you may have air. Or the switch might be faulty. Or the master cylinder could be leaking or worn out. You need to inspect the braking system for leaks. You may need to bleed the system. It might be a good idea to have it looked at by a qualified mechanic.
