Borla Soundclips?

Anyone got some soundclips of an LT1 with a borla exhaust? I'm talking about with stock manifolds and possibly no cat. converter. I found one for cheap but I don't know if it has that DEEP rumble that I am looking for.

Sry but the reason you prolly found it cheap is because it sounds like an over priced cherry bomb. just go with an SLP LM and you'll be alot happier with the sound and performance. PLus you'll save a little $$

You do know you just got the Borla muffler right? The Borla exhaust is the fully adjustable catback. There is probably a pretty decent difference between the two depending on what you do with your piping. I think the main reason people go with Borla is the adjustability not the muffler. Good luck though.

Well i dont have cats on my car. Will it be deeper if I went with bigger piping? I really don't have the money for it all right now.

Do you have a catback exhaust right now(it would be after where the cats normally are regardless if they are there or not)? All that muffler normally does is replace your existing muffler for the Borla. It is better flowing but the pipe dimensions aren't different usually, this one is a little larger though. It has a 3inch inlet and 2.5 inch outlets so you'll need a new intermediate pipe(goes from the Y-pipe over the axle to the muffler). Then two 2.5 inch pipes coming out for tailpipes. Depending on where you have all the welding and bending done at it'll run you a little more. Definately not as much as a complete Borla kit but still not cheap. Also if you want the adjustability a conventional Borla catback has you'll have to get that added and installed which will run you more. Just wanted to give you a heads up on it that's all.

Or I could just get a pipe adapter to go from stock size piping to 3" right?

Yes you definately could. But that wouldn't really give you the benefits of a better flowing muffler. A 3in. pipe is going to really outflow the stocker, without that you probably won't have much if any of a performance increase, just sound. If that's all your after then yeah you'll be fine.

Yea I may have to do that for right now and later on down the road upgrade to 3" exhaust all the way. By the way would you happen to know what diameter stock exhast is on my car?

I wanna say 2.75 but don't quote me on that. I think the Y-pipe is dual 2.5. Not certain on the pipes going from the muffler to the tips but I'd say 2.5 also.

I ended up getting a full 3" exhaust system put on with the Borla muffler and no cat. converter. Now it seems like I have lost my ability to spin like crazy out of first and catch second. Is this normal on these cars?

PS: My exhaust is quieter than it has ever been with the big tubing and Borla muffler.

I'm suprized it's quieter but it's probably just the muffler. Also everything probably flows much more freely so you lost a little low end tq due to less backpressure. That is usually normal. Does it pull better up top though? Was the system you got used or new? If used the muffler may actually be a little clogged or something, that would explain the quieter sound as well.

The muffler was brand new and it is pretty quiet. Yes it does feel like I gained some pretty good top end. I guess this is all good because now I can actually get traction quicker and have more power in the top end. Better for the 1/4 mile run?

I am actually hoping that it make take a little while to break in the new muffler. I got some new rattles from the exhaust that I need to go get fixed soon too.
