Exclamation Blinker stopped blinking

When I put on my left turn signal, it just stays solid the whole time. It doesnt blink in the dash cluster or in the front or on the taillights. It just stays solid. Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Blinker stopped blinking

Most often, it is a bulb element that is burned out. Look at the bulbs, front and rear. Compare to the other side, if needed.

Make sure you top off the blinker fluid too.

Ditto what he said. Turn on the left flasher and get out of the car. Either the front or rear will be solidly lit, the other likely wont be lit at all. Replace the one not lit, and everythign should flash again

Re: Blinker stopped blinking

I had a loose bulb in my rear left taillight and only my right turn signal blinked and my left turn signal was steady. I had to change the whole socket from a junkyard taillight harness i bought. I'm not sure if the same would apply to a burnt bulb.

Re: Blinker stopped blinking

I checked both bulbs in the front turn signal assembly and they both work. I also noticed that it lights up more than the other signal when the blinker is on. The taillight turn signal also works, it lights up solidly. Could there be another thing that could cause this? Its like it is stuck lit up and doesnt blink.

Re: Blinker stopped blinking

If one side looks brighter or dimmer than the other, you might have a grounding or a socket problem. You should also try changing the flasher if you have not already. It's easier than chasing socket problems.

most likely, in my experiences, it has been a flasher. good luck to you.

Re: Blinker stopped blinking

Would it be a bad connection at the flasher, or just a bad flasher all together?

Just the flasher, from what I have seen... If it is not it, then it might be the turn signal switch itself, but make sure all connections are good at the bulbs and you have good grounds...
