Black dust on rear wheel
Black dust on rear wheel
My girlfriend drives a 2000 Celica and she called me today and told me that there is black dust all over her passenger side rear wheel. It has rear drum brakes on it and we just put new wheels on it yesterday. I haven't got to look at it because she lives an hour away but I can't think of anything that could cause that.
I don't know if it's related, but last Friday night I was driving it and curb checked it on the passenger side. It popped the front tire, took a chunk out of the side of the rear tire, bent both rims (alloy) slightly (but you could still mount tires on it without any problems), and got some really nasty curb rash on them. So I finally found some new wheels that fit it yesterday and we put them on along with some brand new Cooper Cobras. It drives good, no noises, vibrations, or anything. It pulls very slightly to the right but she's getting an alignment Thursday.
Any ideas?

Re: Black dust on rear wheel
the wheels were clean as of 7pm last night and by today around 2 pm it was covered. she already cleaned it tonight and we're gonna see if it comes back. i'm thinking she drove through something maybe.
