Biggest rear tires for 99 z

Question? Just got a new 3500 stall and need to know what is the biggest tire size that will fit on stock (rear) 16" rim and not rub? Thanks in advance!
p.s. What kind do you recommend other than the nitto dr. Had those already!

Are you looking for street tires, drag radials, DOT or full slicks? Track use only, or street and track?

Are you aware there is a Wheels & Tires forum for questions like this?

There's a BFG Radial TA 265-50-16 I'm running that's a full inch taller than stock but it's only S rated for 112 mph though.

Re: Biggest rear tires for 99 z

the widest that normally fits a stock 16" wheel is 255... BFG..
You can also get Nitto Drag Radials in 245's..
(the difference in a 245 and a 275- which is common for 17" wheels, is 1 inch.. not much difference..)

All too often people just make bad tire decisions.

Make a good choice and traction shouldnt be an issue.

On my Yokohama AVS ES100's 245/50-16 I cant dump the clutch at 4000 at the track.. My clutch wont grab.. Heck, I couldnt even spin them... IF I went through the water I am sure I could.. but warm from the drive to the track and going around the water box, traction was in abundance...

For the price, the Yokohamas offer killer traction and excellent handling characteristics..
