best budget valve springs
which are good valve springs for a budget. i'm not really looking to upgrade to titanium retainers.
is there and advantage of single to double springs?
here are my choices i think:
26918 Comp Cams 26918 Conical Spring (LS1 replacement) Suitable to .600 lift with more aggressive ramp-rate cams (Works with stock or Comp 772-16 Titanium Retainers) $159.99
144832 Crane Cams 144832 Dual Valve Spring Set, 1.275 Diameter LS1 Replacement springs suitable to .650 lift and with more aggressive ramp-rate cams (Works with Crane 144661 Titanium Retainers) $149.99
since it says "works with" does that mean they are required?
and why are new seals needed with the Crane 144832s??
i'm looking to do a vavle spring swap, and possibly a 1.8 rocker inistall later...and then a cam after that (i know Comp makes cams compatable with the rockers)

Re: best budget valve springs
"if youre still runnin stock cam with 1.6 rockers at the most i suggest the LT4 springs....theyre 26 bucks from GMPD iirc and they handle to .525 lift...part # 12551483"
i would but i plan to do rockers and/or cam in the near future...don't want to do the work twice. and springs for $150 isn't bad...specially if i know they will handle a decent cam
