Best Battery

Time for a new battery. Mine goes dead if the car sits for over a week. It was in the car when I bought it. A Sears diehard. Any idea on what's the best for a reasonable price. Who in the Wilmington De area carries Optima and what do they cost?

best would probably be the optima red top...but its not one i would call "reasonably priced"

got mine on special for about $120 i think.

make sure your alt isn't pulling amps when the car is off...could kill even a new battery

That a lot of money for a battery. Wal-Mart $45.

Optimas are way over-rated. IMO. I have had decent luck wth NAPA batteries.

If a good battery dies within a week, it's not the battery's fault. There is a power drain somewhere.

Car has the alarm security system with the red dot light flashing on the dash. Would that and the clock drain the battery in a week of sitting.

Just buy a battery with a 3 yr warranty because that is about all they are good for. Also that security alarm & clock will not drain the battery for the time you are quoting. Again anything over $75 is overpriced.

If it did, half the cars out there would have dead batteries.

Went on Optima's web site and they don't list a model for a 94 Camaro. Does this mean it won't fit? I see they are made by Johnson controls which makes alot of different brands. Are they worth the money or are they just a regular battery in a fancy case?

Unless you need one to mount in arkward or sideways position they are not worth it. Why pay for something you don't need in a fancy case. In my opinion they are not worth it. $75 or less battery works same principle.
