BCM help! Doorlocks broken

My power door locks have not been working for a while now. When you press the lock/unlock button inside the car you can here the BCM click. When I use the remote to lock the car it locks the driver side door but unlocks the passenger side. So I was thinking the problem is the BCM. I bought a used BCM recently and tried to install it. As soon as I plug in the wire harnesses the alarm starts to go off and the car will not start or do anything. I have read a ton of threads and cant seem to find any help so far! Any help would be awesome guys!

With it being a used BCM it isn't vin matched to your car and immediatley sees a problem when communicating to the PCM is my best guess without seeing it. It could also have had a problem before with it being used. As for what is causing the problem it could be a number of things but when it's something electrical and it's doing weird stuff like that alot of times it has to do with a ground so you might check those real good.

Re: BCM help! Doorlocks broken

Are you sure a BCM gets vin matched? I thought it only got programmed to the resistor pellet (in the key) which was first used. i.e., you buy a new one and the first time you turn the key to try and start the car THAT is the resistor value that is required from then on out to start the car. Now that could definitely be a problem (only 1 in 15 chance of getting it right!).

Re: BCM help! Doorlocks broken

Is there any way I can just throw a resistor in there to bypass the VATS system or whatever is messing this thing up with the new BCM???
