Battery slowly dies

I installed a new radio a while ago and I haven't been able to drive around because my car is on jack stands, so I noticed after 2-3 days the battery would be dead, and after a week the lights wouldn't even turn on. I took of the face plate of the radio because my friend told me that draws power, but the battery still dies. Is a wiring issue?

Re: Battery slowly dies

Yes, almost certainly a wiring issue. Not much we can do to help; you’ll need to trace every wire with an amp meter to find the culprit.

Re: Battery slowly dies

You can narrow it down a bit by inserting a DC amp meter in the main positive line from the battery. See how much the current draw is with the key in the "off" position. Then start pulling fuses one at a time, to see which circuit is pulling the serious amps. Replace each fuse before moving on to the next one. Do NOT attempt to start the engine - you will toast the meter.
