Battery mount?

So, I was checking my fluid levels the other day and I noticed there was a bunch of crusted gunk by my battery, so I went to flake it off and then I noticed...

my battery is just sitting loose in my engine bay without a mounting bracket.

anyone know the gm part# for a battery mount or any way I can secure it?

battery hold-down and tray are part if the coolant bottle, inexpensive at the dealer

edit

here's the GM part number

10402687

GM list is $40, call jason or dal and get it cheaper

or look for used ones

skip the GM part, its a POS and a paint to change...

for like $5 at home depot you can get a strap with pre-drilled holes in it. Just hookd it up in the factory hold down clamp bolt, and then have it go up and over the battery, then bolt into the rear mount for the headlight.

I agree with the post above, the factory design is poor and it will break again after you replace the coolant tank/battery tray. Here's a link to an inexpensive fix that my friend created and we both use: http://members.aol.com/blownf1/batttray.html

I'd rather use a stock battery mount than some 'inventive creation' to hold my battery in place.

thx for the part number

I got a PVC coated generic steel clamp at an auto parts store that replaces the stock plastic wedge, and ran a bolt completely through the base and added a nut, rather than use the threads in the battery tray. Battery is solid as a rock, and its been that way for 7 years.
