Battery cranking problem?
Re: Battery cranking problem?
That was pretty specific. I was wondering why that may be happening. I'm sorry if that might require more than one answer, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. The double post was an accident, must have clicked submit twice. As you know, there is no delete option. Do you know any of the reasons that may happen? Should this be in "engine tech" or something?
Re: Battery cranking problem?
Fuel supply: how long it's taking for the air/fuel mix to reach the appropriate combustion level.
My two cars are an '05 Honda CR-V and my '86 Camaro. When it's cold, my Camaro starts quicker (almost no crank) than my Honda b/c the Camaro is carbed and the Honda is EFI. Choking the carbed motor makes it "ready" to start quicker. Conversely, when the Camaro motor is warm it takes a good 2 or 3 seconds of crank to start because the a/f mix has to reach spark.
Battery power is simply the supply of electricity for spark and to turn the starter which turns the engine. Exactly why you can bump start a manual tranny car when the battery is exhausted.
