Bad Vibration under moderate and heavy braking...

2001 Camaro Z28...
Braking at any speeds greater than 50 MPH or at ANY speed with more than 1/4th brake pedal, I get vibrations... The entire car shakes its way to a stop and the pedal feels like it's pulsing slightly... I really can't pin point exactly where the vibrations are coming from... my wildest guess would be to say the front but Im really unsure as it's the entire car that vibrates and no specific area... Is this normal or what should I look into? I'm at 57K Miles...

Edit: I'm also aware I spelled heavy wrong in Title...

Could be a loose caliper anchor bolt

Today i just bought new rotors and pads for my truck which was shaking very crazily, so annoying everytime i go to stop it shook soo bad, but it stops so nicely now, i would agree with everyone else it is the rotors and pads.

Before you spend the money to have discs turned, you might check the cost on new ones. Many times, turning will put the rotors out of spec. for thickness or the thinner rotors will be even more likely to warp.

yup, and the general concensus I am seeing, is that aftermarket rotors are less prone to warping as opposed to GM ones

Re: Bad Vibration under moderate and heavy braking...

My rotors were like 26 buck a peice( not the best ones) they seem really good though because i got the best pads. The better rotors were like 39 each or somethin. my truck is very heavy and it was very annoying stoping and shaking like it did, i mean the steering column shifter would go crazy along with the steering wheel. It stops so smooth now it feels so weird now. lol. Yea it deffinitly is worth it for new rotors.

The last ones I bought were for a Cavalier, and they were the cheapest at Murray's for $15(?) each. What's the going rate for having rotors turned?
