Backup lights not working

Backup lights not working

Ok i've got a 6 speed 97 ta and my backup lights have never worked....its not a fuse and the bulbs are new so what could it be?

I had that problem with an 89 camaro I had. It was the neutral safty switch which either needs adjusted or replaced. It's under the center console near the shifter.

cool, well i appreciate the reply's. I 'll look at some stuff on it tomorrow. I have had the car for about 6 months now but really have not had time to look into it. My main goal right now is to get this thing tuned!

The backup light switch is on the passenger side of the T56. There is no "neutral safety switch" on a 4th Gen T56.

Thanks injuneer, im going to check that out. I didnt think there was a switch by the shifter in the car b/c i just put a short throw stick on it.
