i have a 1987 iroc 350 tpi...with headers, fuel pressure regulator modified maf sensor, mild intake porting, ram air setup, chip,. the suspension has stock springs, strut tower brace, subframe conectors, lakewood contorl arms, adj. panhardbar i also have kelly charger Z rated tires. my questoin is i am starting out in the autcross world and i wanted to know what some other mods i could make or some tricks i should do to improve the ride....i want to have a car that can compete...more or less what would you do in my shoes to get ready for the season ahead.

 

Like most of us you've gone about this back asswards. Get an SCCA or NASA rule book, deside what class you want to run when mod the car for that class.
The chances are good with the mods you already have that you'll be put in some RACE class, where you'll have no chance of being competative.

P.S. If you just want to do this for fun. It doesn't really matter what class your in. Just go have fun.

P.P.S In fact this is exactly what you should do. Just take what you have and go. You don't need more mods. See whats going down, talk to the folks, and when deside what you want to do. As they say in the commercial, just do it.

 

make sure you have a "wonder bar" to keep the steering box from ripping out of the frame.

i think the 87 irocs all had this...not positive. do a search.

but yeah, SFC put you in a pretty competitive class.
