The Art of a Proper Takeoff

I have a '99 SS and it's, for the most part, stock. Whats the best way/method to get the fastest takeoff at the line? Rev high and then drop the clutch when the light turns green? Don't rev prior to letting off the clutch? I've tried it several ways and I can't decide what's the best way. Thanks.

Re: The Art of a Proper Takeoff

If I rev high and drop the clutch my tires simply spin.

Are you on street radials, drag radials or slicks?

The fastest way for me to launch my car on the street with street radials is to rev up to around 2000 - 2500 RPM and then feather the clutch to avoid bogging the engine while I give it gas. If I rev too much higher, the clutch can slip on me. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, and is hard on the clutch, therefore I dont mess with it very often.
