anyone know where to get positive battery union?

Im looking for a new red positive terminal cover that hooks to the fender under the hood, mine cracked. Anyone know the correct term for this part or where I can get a new one other than the dealer

Forward lamp wiring harness junction block. GM PART # 12186586 . Not sure you will find it anywhere but a dealer.

I just went to an electronic supply house and purchased an electrical distribution block.. Made by littlefuse. It is like 20 times the quality of that junk that GM put in stock.

or go to :http://www.delcity.net/delcity/servl...geitem=1&new=y and just buy yourself item#30405 fittingly named the "optifuse" can't remember the cost ....seems like a couple of bucks.-cheaper than the supply house junction block and better insulated and designed than the Red box junk that GM installed.

The part nimber 12186589 is if the car is equipped with a remote access. If not the correct part number is 19150505 but it really doesn't matter they're both discontinued. Unless someone has a stash of NOS parts I think the best chance of getting the original part is the jubk yard. unfortunate thing about that is that virtually every car not in the junk yard has a broken "hinge" so good luck with that search. You can also find them in Firebirds (I've been told) but I've had no luck in my search.

Not sure what you are talking about (remote access??...the part is simply a wiring junction block) or why you would reply to a 5 year old dead thread. The part number given in post #2 is correct and even still available today. What you gave is disinformation as far as I can tell.

Agreed. The part # Rob posted matches the red plastic positive junction box I bought several years ago, and it is still available. Gmpartsdirect.com lists it.

Always puzzles me when these old threads pop up for no apparent reason.

I just bought one on Ebay for mine, less than $20, shipping to Canada included...
