Angry Anyone ever got a dud hooker???

well my car has been gone for 2 months and was supposed to pick it up today...and called and the builder said the passenger side header went on perfect. The driver's side went on but was riding on the frame near my brake lines which would be cooked.

He called Holley Tech and the guy told him that after my installer explained to him, tech man said that the header was made wrong..that the primary was most likely bent wrong from the factory thus not getting my 1" of clearance from the frame like the other Z he had in the shop with the same headers on it.

HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANY OF YOU GUYS???

it took me 2 months to recieve these headers anyways due to B/O's, then one's not right when he tries to finish it up. So i figure it's going to be another 2 months until i get the driver header back from hooker like it took me to get the pair. If i ever do get it back.

Just wondering if any of you guys have ever seen a hooker header messed up from the factory?

Re: Anyone ever got a dud hooker???

hooker and jet hots have that problem , they are the same design.
they will ride ur underbody sometimes where the y-pipe will not fit

i had to heat up the headers and bend them down

they might just send u a new header with the same problem , dont get ur hopes up

ill never buy hooker or jethots again,

i plan on kooks next

alot of ppl have problems others dont

have u changed the motor mounts?

if not put the polys in b4 the headers go on , this may help u out

in my case it did not

if u dont want to bend the header and the company sends u another one that doesnt fit , send them back for a refund. Get urself a pair of Kooks stainless steel ones, although alot pricier than the hookers, u will never regret it and they fit very well.

id also say if money was a problem id get a set of pacessetters , the new design offers no flaws that i have heard of yet and are cheaper than both hookers and well a hell of alot cheaper than Kooks.

i dont belive heating them up and bending down slightly would cause much difference in flow

untuned my headers even after the modifications picked up a half second and 4 mph in the 1/4

a tune is not needed but is always good
